I have a Hydreanga that is 3 years old. It was in bloom when I planted it. But it has not bloomed since. The leaves are big and beautiful, no blooms. What to do?????

Give it a feed with a fertiliser with less nitrogen. A tomato food or similar would probably be OK as it is high in potassium and designed to promote flowering and fruiting. Alternatively use a mix of 2 handfuls of bone meal, 1 handful sulphate of potash and a tablespoon of magnesium sulphate. Spread at the rate of a handful to the square yard. Water very well before and after.

If the growth season is over, then leave it until it is ready to shoot again. You will see the new buds on the stems when it is ready. If you fertilise when it is going dormant it will be wasted.
