I started a pineapple plant (indoors) with the top of a pineapple that we got at the supermarket. I wasn't sure if it would work, but after I left it in a glass of water on the windowsill for about a month, it sprouted roots. So I transplanted it to some soil in a pot. It has really taken off...but now I'm sortof at a loss of what to do with it. I know that it will not produce fruit for another year (or so all my reading has told me). But is there a way to prune it properly? Should I just leave it alone? It's getting larger and larger...I'm wondering if I'll have to transplant it again...Anyone else ever do this with any success? Is there something I should be doing that I'm not? Thanks y'all.

Firebetty,

Sent you 2 PMs on subject, apparently you haven't had the chance to read them.

Here's some info on recent discussions on that subject. http://www.thegardenhelper.com/cgi-bin/ubb/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/16/686.html?

I have six of them growing in containers outdoor.
