I have two large mandevilla vines this year that have done real well. Its almost fall soon here in zone 5 ohio and I was wondering when should I cut them down to take indoors and how short should I trim them down. Sure dont want to lose them!

This is my first year with Mandevilla so am not sure what their temp range is, nor when to prune.

I have 2 plants and have moved both under cover (though there is no real risk of frost for another month or 2, its primarily to protect from winds). Both are currently in my unheated greenhouse where temps are varying between 10-25C. One of these is still flowering so I won't be pruning just yet.

Here in Mo. we have to dig them up and bring them inside or they die. They sure have been pretty this year. Mine seemed to require a lot of fertilizer. I used the water from my fish tank and kept some compost mixed in to the topsoil.

By the way... I love my labs too smile
