WHY,WHY,WHY AND WHAT IS IT????
These dreadful markings are all over my ferns. What should I do???
Please help!!! I don't want to lose these plants.
All help is greatly appeciated

I thought of that too,but they don't get direct sun. So I really am lost as to what it could be.

I think it might have gotten thirsty while you were in Georgia, Phoenix. If it were mine, I would trim the brown parts off of it and be happy. I think it will live...

I think Dianna is correct. Irregular watering is the most common cause for that kind of damage. Ferns do not tolerate dryness at all. Even a single watering lapse can cause this.

These symptoms also show up on older leaves that are ready to be replaced. So if this is just a single older leaf, then don't worry.
