I have a perfect space for a large, broad shrub in partial shade, and planned to plant a bottlebrush buckeye. Then I saw a Doublefile Viburnum on sale today and bought it. The nursery tag has the height as 8-10 feet and spread 10-15 feet. But almost every resource I find here at home or on the net says that this Viburnum plicatum v. tomentosum "Summer Snowflake" stays smaller, only 4-6 feet tall, and some sources describe it as narrow.

Has anyone had real-life experience with this variety? Is it likely to block the view of my neighbor's garage, as planned? Or should I take it back to the nursery (a really good nursery, by the way) and demand my money back?

Thanks in advance for any help...
