I have just over $100 to go spend at Franks. I am going to get a bunch of perennial's. In order to do this, there are perennials that will have ot be moved around. It shouldn't traumatize them too much...should it? Most of them are first year plants, anyways, so they aren't putting on a spectacular show anyways. All are healthy, as I have been feeding them well.
I have no choice...right??

Can we ask which plants they are????????

Remember a good rule of thumb for perennials is;
1st year they sleep
2nd year they creep
3rd year they leap

So, sometimes they may look like they're doing nothing! But they are just getting a good root system going to supply nutrients to future top growth!!

Well, let's see...
Daylilies, which I moved today. I had to, they were bossing around my canturbury bells, and we can't have that! I also moved a plant that looked like some kind of coneflower, or thistle. It was not doing well where it was at.
Coreopsis/Tickseed needs to be moved to a sunnier location, as does my moonbeam coreopsis. I have to move 4 peony plants to more sun, also.
Some black eyed susan's, and I thikn thats it.

Daylilies are pretty tough....
Coreopsis/Tickseed are pretty able to be moved.

If it's a coneflower those are hard to move
supposedly, unless, maybe if they are younge.....
Those types have a deep tap root and resent being moved????? Hard to say, other's may have thoughts on this as well!!!!

Moonbeam Coreopsis's okay too!

The Peony plants take a while to bloom in the first time, up to 7 years to my understanding!
So, don't be too big in a hurry to have them flower...

Black Eyed Susan's should be okay too!
They're biennial's, just green leaves the first year and they will flower the next year.

And the canterbells, I believe, if I remember correctly are also biennials, if you got them already with the leaves and they are sprouting up, you'll probably get them to flower this year as that is how they usually sell them.???
Try to save the seed, they've never over wintered here for me?? Your zone may be different.

Of course, I don't plan on finding everything on my list in one place.
I had no idea Peony's took so long to bloom! I did get a few blooms off it, but where it is at, it only gets about 3hrs of sun/day. Is that enough? Major bummer on the canturbells. I don't know if it was blooming when I got it, it was on the clearance rack at the end of the season last year. It looked like a dead pineapple. No leaves or anything, just roots. But, it is beautiful this year, full of blooms, and new blooms! Maybe it just loves it's new home. LOL
