Is it to late to transplant my purple verbena????? It is taking over one of my flower beds, and I do not want to kill it, but would like to move the plants to a better location. Duh

Transplanting in summer is not recommended because the heat doesn't give the plant much chance to recover. If you must move it, wait for a cloudy day...a day when you know it's going to rain would be good...and hope for the best!

Thanks Alan,
so now I have another question. Can I cut it back enough to make it manageable until I can transplant it????? Right now it is about 3 1/2 ft. across. idea

Yes, you can cut it back. It will soon regrow and bloom as much as before.
