I'm gardening in containers on my balcony. I just planted some carrot and cilantro seeds. This weekend I'll plant broccoli seeds. My containers are small, so I can't use all the seeds in the packets. What do I do with the leftover seeds? Can they be saved for next year?

Thanks!

If you keep them in a cool, dry place they'll probably be fine to use next year. Certain seeds remain viable longer than others, but I'm not sure offhand which ones last longest. Every year I find myself planting leftover seeds with good results, although the older they are the heavier I seed to make up for their decreased germination power. TONY
