I would like to collect the seeds from my Blackeyed Susans. Do I just cut the flower heads off the plant after the petals fall off, and keep them dry in a paper bag?????? Or, is there a different way???? Duh <img border="0" alt="[perplexed]" title="" src="graemlins/confused.gif" />

These are by far my favorite plants, all colors. The key word is dry-out teech . They do contain a fair amount of moisture even after they appear dead, but not drying out properly will result in mold throughout your cache shk . I use the silicone packets from packing shipments along with good old fashioned sunshine smile . When ready, the seeds will simply crumble right off the plant heads. I try to do half of my plants and leave the rest for the birds winter. Lots of luck

Hurts the skin of fingers to remove seeds from BES.I do them in zippie bag but most time.I plant the whole seed head.makes a nice "plant" is fuller& looks like a older plant.

I sow them in fall right on ground.or move dormant plants from road side back here in woods.

Ahhhhh! YOu might be frustrated at times, but I'm sure glad you're here cause you just told me what I want to know.

I want some of those too - and I thought about just poking the heads right into the soil. That's what I'll do. And I'll try drying some seeds too.
