my question is:
should I remove any of the spider plant babies? Do they at any stage harm the parent plant? Is there any set spider plant protocall?
This pic was from about a month ago and it has had more babies since!

Love that plant! I can never seem to get mine to make more than a few babies at a time - what kind of setting is this in?

the tile, that's kinda funny! They were that 60's salmon pink then someone before we bought the house painted it white. I thought that it was boring and couldn't afford to replace it so I cut out that
mak tack (sp) stuff you peel the back off and it sticks into tile size pieces and stuck it ramdomly around and did the counter as well!

The plant is in the bathroom on the east right infront of a 6" tall by 3" wide window that's made of that bathroom bumpy glass! The African viloets do really well there too!

when mine get a good sized rot on baby I usually will pop it off and pot it up,but some like my solid green one i just let them keep hanging on.
they get happy and make babies when get pot bound.I have 3 types solid green,, green white edges.. white green edges

Ohhh, I just got a giant green one for christmas! It's just wonderfull, compleatly spans my upstairs bath and has tones of flowers........and seeds??? I have never seen seeds on a spiderplant! Do you know how I deal with them? How long do I leave them on the plant?
Might you have any suggestions?

I have 3 very happy parent plants having babies. I thought that was great....now I hear about seeds? Please describe this to me so I know what to look for!

they are great plants.my neighbor has some in a bed but is protected from frost because of the leaves from the trees above it.I'm suppose to be cleaning the area out of his plants but not been back over there yet.I haven't done anything to my seeds but have only seen them on my solid green one

my spider plant at work gets brown edges all over the leaves. it takes over most of the leaf. why does this do that? i also have 3 babies in one pot that i am growing at home. these plants don't do it. any help will be appreciated.

Are the babies and the parent plant getting the same amount of light? Spiders seem to like a well lit area out of direct sunlight! I let mine dry out between waterings till the top of the soil feels just bairly moist, has the plant been repotted resently?

Check the quality of the water at work. If it is on the hard side, that will cause leaf edge browning. Allowing the soil to become too dry, compacted soil, and being rootbound are also possible causes.

I've been mostly using Desani bottled water. Sometimes when I won't be at work for a while I use the water from the tap. At home we have hard water and don't have any problems. The pot hasn't been transplanted but I thought if it was root bound then you get more babies. It is also very hot at times in my office but gets constant light since the lights can't be turned off here. do you think that would make a difference?

I don't think is light issue.....alaska gets solid daylight& allows them an actual growing season.leaf browning tells me water issue.not sure how they treat that kind of water.when i've had bad water to water with I've used distilled water.rain water is great if you get rain
might check the soil also your soil could me murcky stuff when wet and maybe holdeing water too long.you could change soil out and just repot in same pot& may help watering.I just don't know about them drinking waters.I drink some sometimes when out & couldn't even tell you the name but that it has a reddish lable and maybe the word "spring" my water comes from a natural spring fed lake& my waterman lives out here& lets me know when water inspectors are comeing cause he ups the chlorine& he flushes the lines regularly
