Hi,

I live on the Western Slope of the Colorado Rockies and I just moved into a house that has once-loved rose bushes and fruit trees that have been neglected for several years. It is almost spring here, I think new plants can go in the ground around Mother's Day, but the weather is unpredictable and harsh and I am new to gardening in the area. I also have little experience with roses and fruit trees. They are over-grown, obviously need to be cut back, but the are well established.

This is all very different to me. I grew up in KY, where tomatoes would volunteer from the compost heap and asparagus plants would reseed and grow practically on their own. This long winter in a narrow valley with short days is a little intimidating, but maybe with a little help I can get this garden back to it's former splendor.

Drop me a line if you live in the region or if you have some info for me.

Thanks and happy planting.
