Its been so long since I have been on, and I'm not sure if theres anyone out there that remembers me starting some Huckleberry plants from seed, but if there is, it was a total success. Its a really odd fruit in that you cant eat it till its been cooked and sweetened, but I am gettting rave reviews from everyone that has tried my Huckleberry jam. From just 8 plants, I am going to have enough Huckleberry jam and pies to last a couple of years. So for anyone who likes to try something different, consider starting a couple Huckleberry plants next growing season!!

Where did you find the recipes for the pies and jams???

Hi Weezie,
Well I've been babying those blueberries all summer and our harsh winter is going to be the final test. The blueberrie bushes themselves are pretty tiny still, 6 to 8 inches high at most, but if we can get thru winter alive, we'll see what spring will bring. And I'm glad that you reminded me that they are guaranteed, I would have forgotten about that. And I do remember that they are a miniature type bush, they just are so bitsy, hope they can produce as promised.

Did you load them up with some old sawdust,
or leave mould or pine needles?????????
Hey, even some peat moss is good for them!!!!!
They love that?????

Get some Bone and Blood meal and work it
into the soil in the spring!!!
And try a little epsom salts.

I think the Huckleberries like the same stuff too???

Yes I mulched heavily around them with pineneedles, but now that you mention it, I might shake some sawdust around them too before the snow flys. I didnt do them in the pot they came with, I did them in the ground with the soil they sent as starter. I have three other miniature blueberries from I think Henry Fields with them, they are all about the same size[bitsy].

One thing for FYI,
I've always understood, it took a few years
for the plants to produce heavily..
and that may be the plants need a wee bit of time.

Also, question, was there anything about keeping the plants in the pots, being that they were miniatures??? Maybe needing to be root bound like,
or close??? Just curious, I dont' know either way, but just wondering!!!

No I don't remember anything like that Weezie. The pot I think was presented as an added bonus along with the soil starter. Instructions were given either to use the pot or plant in ground, leaving you flexible about where you wanted to locate it. I however wanted to set up a permanent spot for a blueberrie patch. However I'm wondering if the guarantee was only if you kept them potted, which would assure their success because of the correct acid balance which has been pretty tricky.

Dunno, but just for sh*ts and giggles,
give 'em a call and see what you should do,
say I bought X, Y and Z and I understand there is a guarntee, I wasn't overly happy with the results, and what is my next step..
Then it's documentated that you weren't all that happy and needed to know what you should do..
Then, it's on the records that you called...
And were advised and from what I understand you're credited the full amount...
*not sure if it's for a future product, or redeemed the way you payed for it, I think it's your choice*
Then if they don't come up the coming spring, you've already got your complaint in, and they should ship you new ones and then if the other's do live then you've gotten yourself a bar~goon!!!
I've never had them question or be nasty with me,
but haven't had much of a problem either,
will you let me know what the out come is if you call????
