Just wanted to drop in and say hi! I'm from Eastern PA, zone 6 and this is my first year to be able to do some gardening. I've always lived in apartments where I couldn't plant anything and this year we bought a house with free reign over the yard smile Both my husband and I love gardening which is really nice to be able to enjoy a hobby with my better half.
We started a 8' x 4' sunflower garden in the backyard and I already wish we made it bigger. Also, in the back we are in the process of putting in a brick patio. As soon as that is finished I will have two butterfly/hummingbird gardens at the end of the patio with a path between them leading to the yard.
In the front yard I have a huge mixture of many different flowers which are all in colors of red, orange, yellow and white.
We are also in the process of setting up our basement to be like an indoor green house. Our basement is climate controlled and we really didn't have a use for it. So we decided to set it up to grow plants and flowers. We will be putting in a misting system and grow lights. And, We will be growing plants and flowers throughout the year but I will be mainly using it to prestart all my flowers for next year.
I would also like to do some vegetable plants in the basement but I don't think I will have the room with everything I want to grow LOL

Howdy neighbor! I'm just around the corner in York. Your flowers sound beautiful! This is my first year in our new home as well but we seem to spend most of our time fighting back several years of neglect. I'm looking forward to hearing about your gardens and hopefully you will post some pictures. Welcome!

Joanne
