I am exited to ind this board! spring is here and I am itching to get to work in the yard cool I can't wait to read all of the good advice that y'all have to offer! clp

I have been trying to make my back yard into a "secret garden" , so far I have put in a pond , made a patio out of stones (actually it's marble turned upside down so it looks like slate) , made a connecting patio out of stepping stones... Now I'm trying to connect it all so that it flows nicely.

My problem is that as a mother of a young child I have lot's of *toys* (above ground pool, trampoline, swing set, play house etc) that I have to work around. Does anyone have any advice on how to keep the *garden* feel going around all of the *toys*?

I'll see if I cant take some pictures this week to give you a feel for the yard so that maybe you can have some suggestions for me.

Thanks!

Hey Starla, Welcome to the forum from another N Georgian wavey

My neighbor has a similar situation and she quartered her yard and put all the kids stuff in one area and covered the ground with bark mulch. The rest of the yard looks like the nicest park you've ever visited. Kids aren't too interested in anything except the toys and trampoline - although they did once try to burn the yard down by setting fire to the fire pit. laugh laugh laugh

Thank you all for the welcome!

I took some pictures of my back yard "garden" today. My DD and the Bunnies decided to help "model" LOL. So I thought I'd share.

Wish I had that yard!! I do the same thing I put the toys in one area.. You could plant some pretty flowers around the play house.. maybe if you ge some of that roll out bamboo to hide the trampoline for when you have company..
Welcome.. wavey
