"I'm so prooooud to be here!" (the imortal words of Minne Pearl for all familiar with Southern Culture). I come from a long line of green arms for zones 6-8 and originally from the Appalachains of NC so if anyone has questions for that region---I'll be happy to throw my 2 cents in! trees, veggies, native species mostly. Oh yes, and lawns. Lawns, lawns, lawns....yawn!

Thank you so much for the welcome Patches and Handbright! I grew up about 15 miles from the entrance to the NC side of the Great Smoky Mtns Ntl Park! I loooove it and right now, I think, is the most beautiful time. The budding of the trees and all the little guys on the forest floor emerging from the litter. Oh! It's like a treasure hunt every mornning!

Thank you Penny and princessazalea for the bright welcome! I feel kind of like Goldie Locks--I found a gardening site that is "just right".
