When you are handling over a larger denomination note, say a twenty,fifty or larger. Be sure to glance at the last 4 digits of the serial number. Then if the cashier short changes you, all you need to do is tell them the last 4 digits of the dollar. As you know the last 4 digits on the dollar you are going to get their complete attention. They will match the note you gave them. grinnnn

Good idea, happened to my uncle once. Our 50's and 2's are red. He handed a 50 and got change for a 2. He argued it but they wouldn't give him back his change, he no longer goes to that store.

You know I always give money back if given too much, Yet, sometimes the cashiers are not as careful..
