I found this pattern for a rosary and it seems simple enough but I have not clue how to do it (this is shows how noviceI am!) If someone could explain it to me (I know what the SC, CH all mean) or better yet, take pics of each step I'd really appreciate it!

5scc pcc = *put hook in 1st ch from hook, pull yarn up, pull loop
through last loop on hook * repeat till you have 5 loops on hook, put
hook in same ch, pull yarn through all loops on hook and pull tight (it
should look like a small bead ).

5hdc pcc = * yo ,put hook in 1st ch from hook, pull loop through
last 2 loops on hook * repeat till you have 6 loops on hook, put hook
in same ch, pull yarn through all loops on hook and pull tight
(it should look like a large bead ).

You're not novice. I have been crocheting for over 30 years and have NEVER seen this stitch before. I'm not sure what they are talking about. It looks a little like a puff, cluster, or popcorn stitch but it's different.

I think this is how the roasry supposed to look like i'd take it cuz they're beads that they should form like a small cluster. The thing I don't get is the part about having five loops on your hook

That is Beautiful! I've been playing around with it but still can't figure it out. If you have the plans I could give it a try. That looks like it's done with kite string and a stell hook like you use to make doilys and some bedspreads.

I got a book from the library, the Crocheters companion. It has a popcorn stitch and a puff stitch. theyre similar sounding. Maybe if you find directions for those one would work. I could type them to you but then theres no picture. it also has loads of crochet websites:

I use this stitch often, Kennyso. In Victorian times it was called the Rice Stitch.

Have no idea what 5ssc and pcc mean.

But here is how i make a bead on mine.

In the first chain, make 5 double crochets, keeping them on the hook.
Pull the thread thru the chain and all the loops on the hook......tight
that makes a bead.

I have to try it and take a photo.

Thanks Merme and Dodge, I almost forgot I posted this here, good thing I got distracted from my research and decided to browse through
