Hi, this questions has been in my head for some time now...does anyone grow or know of any botanical beads? Botanical beads are usually seeds/natural material that can be made into a bead without any altering (aside from drilling holes). Botanical beads are not bone or wood beads. These are the ones that I use and sometimes grow, anyone know of more?

Joob's Tears
Olive Pits
chinaberries
Rosary Pea
Castor Beans

I think my gramma had a necklace that was made of acorns and there were little red seed beads in between each acorn.

Cherry pits...that might work. Well, actually, anything can work. I just like to make rosaries from these to give and sell to people. I'm glad others have heard of these beads (for a while I thought I was going nuts, turns out I'm not!) Job's Tears were used by Mother Teresa and JohnPaul II to make their rosaries. Olivepits usually come from Jerusalem (that's where I buy mine). If you'd like to see some things that I've made from Job's Tears, you can visit my website (not sure if I should post it here, it's a selling site, I can PM you the link)
