With all the warm weather we've been having, my daffodils and crocus are going crazy! I saw my first daffodil blooms on Saturday, although my miniature Tete-a-tete's may have started the day before. I had 8 blooms on Saturday, 41 on Sunday, 153 yesterday, and over 300 today!

A cold front has moved through now though, so that will probably slow things down for awhile.

My battery died in my camera, so my light meter's not working. I took a few pictures today anyway, to use up the roll, just guessing on the setting. I'll try to get my pictures made next week. I spent all my money yesterday on fertilizer, so I have to wait till after payday. (Saturday)

Anyway, last year, it was 9 days after I hit 300 blossoms that the daffodils were in maximum bloom, (1000+ blooms) so I'll have plenty of time for getting some good pictures.

I can't wait to see either so don't delay lol. All my crosuses bloomed but I've only got one daffodil bud and it's not looking very good at the moment. I don't think it liked the cold snap one little bit.

Terry how many daffodils did you start with and how many years has it taken to get the number you have now?

Catlover, back in the mid to late 80s I was doing landscaping for awhile, and we bought a bag of 100 mixed daffodil bulbs from White flower Farms. They were huge! So big, they wouldn't fit in the holes of our bulb planter. They had multiple "noses" so we just broke off the side bulbs, till they would fit in the hole, and then my landscaping partner and myself divided the rest and took them home. As a wild guess, I would say maybe 50 bulbs apiece at most, but maybe a bit less than that.
