One 'followed' me home from the store...hehehe shocked

I've never had one before, are there any tips to keep him happy? His tag says moderately moist, and bright indirect light...sound right? Duh

I keep having that same trouble with plants that follow me home from the store! Duh Will have to tell my husband that this also happens to others!

I have a couple of begonia's (rex) happy plants that are pretty hard to kill! I give them to the kids when they want to have a plant in their room as they bloom so easily for them! I keep my big one in a east window and it does well! I haven't found that they have any real tricks to them, I take off the finished blooms and water it when it is almost dry!

Hope that is of some help!

An amazing thing happened to me just today. Omaha has about 600,000 in the metro area and it was about 5 degrees above zero today. I had been shopping in one of those large Super.... when I decided to check out the small plant dept they have, despite the fact that I know that I don't need any more plants! There wasn't much left after the holidays but there was an adorable spikey succulent. It kept calling to me and I must have picked it up 4 times. I finally decided that I would give it to one of my daughters for her birthday, so there it was in the cart smiling up at me.
To be continued - next post...

I don't know what made me put it back on the shelf.
As I was leaving the store I saw my daughter getting into her car. She said she just bought a cute little plant and that she was on her way to our home to visit. I was too cold to ask if it was a spikey plant but all the way home I kept shaking my head because I knew she had come along after me and that the little cutie pie had convinced her to take him home.
And sure enough there he was sitting on the table smiling up at me. We named him Spike and he is now happily living at my daughter's apartment.
If you are drawn to a plant then it must be calling out to you and that you should not pass it by.

Many plants have followed me home. Some did not survive but more are living as I learn more.

Evie
