Fall
I fall into love with a poet
Never seeing a face
Almost as if the words trace my soul
With magical permanent markers
So many pretenders in this world
Stroll through life unable to touch the depths of it all.
I fall for a painter
Who has opened a closed door?
And made me feel beyond mundane simplicity.
I fall into a depression
Dark and cold
With no explanation at all
Yet, oddly comfortable like an old worn out shoe.
I fall as I drift to sleep
Falling swiftly gaining speed, horrified of hitting the ground
I awake somewhere before the bottom
In a hole with no light gasping for air
Wondering if the next time
I will continue to fall.
I fall for the sunset that takes over the sky with
Mango's bleeding into lavish purple
lilacsSheets of powder blue glass that
Shatter to form velvet hints of fire.
I fall apart
In so many pieces
Never putting them all back to the same place
With each word I write
I find little pieces of an ongoing puzzle.
