My newest grand-daughter was born on June 28 at 1:26 PM. She weighed 5 lbs. 3 oz. and is 17 1/2 inches "tall".

I didn't make it to the hospital in time to go into the surgical unit where Megan had to have a c-section, but was there in NC about 2 hours after she was born. Destiny is approximately 3 hours old in the first pictures...

Awww, she's so adorable.

We took Reyla home with us to give Megan a chance to heal from her surgeries (c-section and tubal ligation) and a chance to bond with Destiny and learn the proper way to care for her. Destiny was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate.

Reyla went home yesterday to start her bonding process with the new little sister...

What an absolute Sweetie!!!

She is sooo tiny.

Destiny reminds me a lot of Megan when Megan was first born. Holding Destiny brought all kinds of memories flooding back over my soul.

Megan weighed only 5 lbs. 5 oz. and was 18 inches long. She had the thick dark hair like Destiny does, but a little thicker.

Destiny at 2 weeks old yesterday...



Destiny is going to have to be a fighter. She had her first appointment on Monday for the Cleft Team to evaluate her. Her first cleft lip/palate surgery will be done when she reaches 10 lbs. They have discovered a problem with her hearing that they will be re-checking on August 17. Please keep her in your prayers...

Yes, they are very similar. I just love her dark hair.

She is BEAUTIFUL!! I am praying her surgeries and everything go well. Both of my girls were small, too. ( 3'5 and 5'2...) the small ones are feisty! She has the BEST birthday in the world...mine!
