I went to the doctor today about a problem with my ear. Not related to my ear - while I was out sick a few months ago, I somehow acquired a hard, ridged, area on my left cheek. I asked the doctor about it several times and he said it was "just tissue" and would improve. I think it did improve some but today my doctor decided it was a tumor and needed to be removed. So while I was there, they put me to sleep (which I begged them not to do because of the nausea - I wanted to do local but he didn't know how extensive it was) and fixed the stupid thing. I woke up with a turban of sorts wrapped on my head like a really tight head band. And now my throat is sore again. I hate that stupid airway. Would it be better not to breath than to wake up with a sore throat????

Would it be better not to breath than to wake up with a sore throat???? Sometimes I think so.... Sore throats can really be painful.... :p What a time you've had lately Sheri....so many health issues....it's about time that you got totally better and didn't have any more health problems ever!!!! How long will you have to keep your head wrapped up like that? Hope you have a speedy recovery!

I remember you mentioning that before. I'm so sorry you are having such a rough time. I was looking for an appropriate graphic and only came up with this Maybe when the bandages come off, they will take all of your ills with them. And you can be a regular butterfly.

Thanks all. I feel fine except for the sore throat and this head wrap is making my chin itch or maybe it's the surgery making me itch. But I'm not sick at all.

It is beginning to make me crazy. I want to take it off soo bad. But I know that surgical dressings aren't removed for at least 24 hours. I may take it off and put it back on in the morning. Like I said before, my chin is itching.
Cindy, I've said this before too - I'm living your life.

Healing itches which really stinks - but you might have an allergy to the tape or bandage which would also cause itching. You could try to numb it a little with ice packs. When the bandage comes off look for redness - that might indicate an allergy. Oral Benedryl can also help itching.
Mummies can be very intriguing - take some pictures!!!

Interestingly they told me not to use ice. I took the wrap off for a while today and it was wonderful. It doesn't have adhesive on it, it's a wrap with velcro to attach it. My chin has 1 steri strip on it and my ear has a foam thing that is held on by the wrap. I'm not sure what all this itching is about.
I first noticed this thing while I was out with pneumonia. It was a hard spot on my cheek. I asked about it then and everyone thought it would go away. It didn't.
I feel fine though. I've been using that sublingual B 12 someone suggested on another post.

I feel fine. I slept with that lovely head thing on but took it off when I woke up. I took a pain pill last night and I think it was too much for me. I woke up this morning around 8:30, got up but then went back to bed and didn't get up until 1:00. It was like I was awake but couldn't wake all the way up. I thought I had talked to Johnny on his was home from church but he said I had not. I want to go to church at 5 today but I think I'll stay home instead. And to top it off, the "g" on my keyboard is sticking - so if my spelling is off, just add a "g" somewhere.
