This i made from pringle cans. I put cement in them, let it dry and then removed the cardboard. I used the cement-poles to make a little gardenwall.
I do not grow red arrows, this is just to point them out!

Yes Jiffymouse you may 'steal' the idea! That's why i put it here! And Weezie thanks for the link! That mountain of containers is a neat idea! I've made a container before but i used only cement, i'm gonna make a hypertufa one next time!

It's a lighter material with the 3 different ingredients, but when I saw you do those containers, I thought just maybe, that would be something also you'd like to try...
They would look really neat mixed into what you've got already...

Thanks again Weezie, and yes,i will post pictures of it. I work a lot with cement at work (no i'm not a builder....) I work with autistic people (adults) and amongst other things, we also make objects of cement. When you go to my photobucket you can see leaves that we make of cement. We use large leaves like rhubarb, spread them on to a heap of sand and put a layer of cement over it. When you turn them around you got an impression of the the leaf.

I made a bird bath one summer out of a big leaf, like you described. I sat it up on some rocks and it was so pretty!

Hi Weezie,

The snowing season isn't over yet. It's about -2C at night and +5C during the day-time. And there are still little bits of snow laying around! I'm longing for spring!!!!!!

The home for solitary bees is a little project i made last year. I made i from bamboo and bits of wood. When bees lay eggs in the holes, they put in a caterpillar too so the larve can eat it when it comes out of it's egg (a true horrorstory) Some bees are a bit politer and store honey for their larve....
It isn't used yet by bees but i made it late in the year, i hope there will be inhabitants this year! You can see if they use it cause they shut the holes.

So, you are like our middle part of US, then,
I'm guessing, if you're waiting for spring..
Cause our South seems to have it, and the middle part is just about ready to "spring" *so to speak*, and here in the North, we are still full of it, snow, I mean....

*I love bees, wish I could have a hive or two, but live "in town" and they frown apon that..
But we do have a resident "BEE~MAN" BEEBIZ and he has a hive...
but I truely would love to know if that project works out, looks like a great little Boyscout project if it does...

Hi maja - I just love that bee house - it's so creative! I showed it to my "handyman" husband last night, in hopes that he can help me make one, so the bees leave our shed alone this summer!

By the way... I majored in working with autistic children in college -
way back when...

Hi plants 'n Pots
We make all sorts of candles, work in the garden (have bbq's eating our own potato's and veggies), make objects from cement, some do needlework, and we put caps on little bottles (for an (Amerikan) factory). Our group is called 'varia'group because of the variation in work we do.

We had wasps in our garage last summer, but they were far from solitary........
