In that 1st picture up above with the flower and my two youngest kids, look just over my son's head and under the second geranium...........see that little scrap of periwinkle blue, that's me. laugh laugh laugh

You know, my ex told me what he used to make the hooks and I wasn't really listening. I know it was some kind of metal, he's an electrician and quite talented in building things. I know he had to bend the pipe and then he spray painted them . The only thing he didn't do which I guess would have been very hard , was put the stabilizer bar and stake at the bottom for more in-ground support. But he did think of everything and brought a mallet and wooden wedge blocks to drive into the ground to hold them steady once we tested them out the night before the wedding. Only a few needed the extra support.

The property is a private boarding school, and we were the only wedding there all summer. Usually just people in the know, who work there or know someone who works there, ask to use the place. We were EXTREMELY fortunate to get the place, as I no longer work there and kinda left under a little cloud of controversy.

yes, Weezie, that's the mansion in the background. Most of the classrooms are in there. To the right is the Union, which houses the kitchen/dining room/performing arts center/ and the mailroom. Behind us is the gym, which just had a huge addition put on it.

Wow, that's an awesome looking building...
*I keep looking at the amount of bricks it
took to make that*
but just so pretty..

Those hooks are really neat....
did you take them home and utilize them there yet?
(or did the bride get them?)

Here's a nice picture of Aimee and her Dad, coming from the side with a glimpse of the Union in the background.

The reception was in the Union.

The bride did get the hooks, she says that after spending this entire summer working on the wedding she is taking next summer to work on the outside of their house, building a patio and sprucing up the yard. She plans on using the hooks and having me make up some hanging baskets for her. I'll probably use lots of petunias since they hold up the best.

Normally , he does hate getting all dressed up, but for this he was all business! He was very proud of his job and excited for the wedding. We even caught him blinking back emotional tears as he stood up during the ceremony.

Awww, that is so sweet!!!! thumbup

My nephew was 9 when I got married and he was the Jr Best Man....well at the reception he kept spending all of his money on the dollar dance to dance with me! laugh

I know a lot of people probably view the dollar dance as tacky but most people around here do it, and I got tired of people asking me if we were--so we did!

Anyway, I told him he didn't have to pay to dance with me but he was all business about that and insisted he pay. He probably spent 10 dollars dancing with me!

Thank you, of course in the frenzy of getting us all ready and having the "veil fiasco" I forgot to do my own hair and makeup and just ran out of time! shk

I loved that dress too, I wish you could see the back, it was the same sheer floral embroidered fabric that is at the bottom of the dress all the way down to the small of my back. I NEVER wear anything that daring, yet I felt very comfortable in this dress. The scarf thingy more got in the way than anything else, and I mostly live in sneakers.

I think the dollar dance is a small town rural thing. laugh (Edit, I'm way wrong--just googled it and it's popular most places)

After all the first dances are out of the way then people line up to dance with the bride and groom and pay a buck for a dance....My sister embarrassed me though and raffled off the first dance with each of us to the highest bidder! Marks cousin won with a $50 bid for the first dance with me....I could've killed her for that! :p laugh

At most weddings you go to around here they do it.....even really fancy ones.... Duh That couple hundred we made helped a lot too....with meals on our honeymoon and gas and stuff.

If you google dollar dance a ton of stuff will come up about it.
