My daughter's wedding was yesterday! We've been planning this day for 1 1/2 years and it was beautiful! thumbup

My daughter and I have been crazily sewing since last December. We chose what we thought was a simple dress for the bridesmaids, but turned out a little complicated because of the style it had to be a "perfect" fit, so many fittings later, they were beautiful. I don't have pics yet of all the bridesmaids together, will post them when I get them.
We also did the flower girl dress and the jr. bridesmaid (my youngest daughter) and the mens and boys vests. We opted not to do the bridal gown, we figured we had enough stress without adding that! She found a beautiful dress off the rack in a cafe color that we did slight alterations to and she made her own veil. (I think she spent about $12 versus the hundred they wanted for a veil! shk nutz )

Here's a picture of some of the party, the groom is in the middle, his brother is on the left and friend on the right. In the background from left to right is my daughter Jocelyn (junior bridesmaid), the flower girl (groom's niece), Krista (brides cousin,my niece)the bride, you can't see her at all in this picture, another bridesmaid and the back of the photographers head.

and here's the bride, Aimee, her Dad (my ex) and my daughter Karen the maid of honor.

The material for the dresses is crepe-backed satin and the men's vests was an upholstery material. Loz, you bet I feel relieved and don't know what to do with myself today! Just taking it easy and working on a jigsaw puzzle and my sister is here relaxing with me! thumbup
They leave for their honeymoon on Thursday , they are going to Arizona and the Grand Canyon too!

I know, Dianna, I thought the colors were royalty also! We had fun picking the fabrics.

I guess I should post a pic of me, my dress was a beautiful periwinkle blue. Of course , I didn't take any pictures of myself, so you'll have to wait until my daughter or sister puts their pictures on the computer! lala

Sheri, it is hard , because my two favorite things don't mesh well. I haven't done enough in my garden this summer because I didn't want to get all dirty and then try to work on the dresses.

CONGRATULATIONS, O CONGRATULATIONS MEL!

A big job so splendidly accomplished! All your sewing turned out as beautifully as I suspected it would, knowing of your talents with a sewing machine. But even so, it is a treat to see the finished product!! Thanks so for sharing it all with us.

And where is that picture of you?

I bet you look terrific in periwinkle blue.

I just got some more wedding pictures I wanted to share with you guys. I had Aimee's father make some shepards hooks for me and hung ivy geraniums to mark the aisle. Here's a good shot of those and a great picture of the overall setting.
