Well, I've been waiting for this . . . my amaryllis has finally started blooming:





Many of my plants have been brought out to the building's lobby to enjoy the extra sunlight we've been getting these days:



What better way to grow seeds than putting them in with your existing plants?



I've forgotten just what I did put in there - guess it will be a surprise.

What is that plant with the purple in the centre of the leaf, my grandmother always had those in her windows, brought a real smile to my face to see it again. Thanks.

wow those looks very nice carly! I have 2 amaryllis' plants that I didn't get around to planting and one of them grew HUGE in the box and I hadn't even water it or anything! it was just sitting in the box and not even in any soil! nad it grew and grew and now the bud is HUGE! it should be blooming soon and I think it's the same as yours...the color looks the same tamara the last pic is some coleus I think? that's what it looks like to me...sure is pretty

That's amazing about the amaryllis in the box. You did put it in some soil since, I guess?

This afternoon it has 4 big buds on it. I'm hoping the blooms come out fully by the time I leave on Saturday morning.

I'll be gone about 3 weeks.

yea I know I didn't think it would grow inside the box lol! yea I put the little round soil block thing in water and then once the soil expanded and everything I planted the amaryllis in it...it's blooming partly now! I'll post a pic of it when it's in full bloom

Oh Carly I hope it blooms before you leave...I would like to see it blooming also. Your plants look great!
