Do these count? laugh laugh laugh I bought them last year when we went to the ocean for 99 cents each...and I put them out even though it's winter....it's cheery to see them spinning away.

I like those, Laura. Wish I could spot me some around here. I might give up planting the real things....NOT! They are colorful, aren't they? Works for me when nothing else is blooming...

Yeh, they just add a bit of cheer at this time of the year I think. That big pole there is the birdhouse......I have Daffs, and Tulips, and Crocuses, and Glads planted in my birdhouse bed. The plan was always to put a smaller wood square in there...and make it 2 levels...but we never got that far... laugh

Just a pic I found of last years sunflowers! Those things were gigantic!!! It cheered me up seeing them so I thought I'd share! In the left corner you can see some wrought iron and the blue of a chair...that's where I sit all summer and I miss it! eek

Sunflowers are my favorite. I tried to plant a whole field of them one time but it didn't work out. Only a few came up.

I grew alot of sunflowers this last summmer,
all different colors..
*the deers gave them a hair cut early in their lives, and gave them multiply stems, and had alot of heads, but they were smaller than some years...
But we especially enjoyed wathching the tiny birds come in and forage in the fall, it was just alive with little birds...
The boys got a kick out of it too!

Oh yeh, the birds love it!!! Right before we left for the ocean last year I cut the heads off and put them down near the feeders....When I came back they were stripped bare.....

I have 3 different sunflowers this year...the regular ones like I grew last year....Red Sun Sunflowers, and some fuzzyish type... thumbup

Some one told me they would not bloom in the house. These were in the Iguana's room where I start my seeds. Of course I was told Tropical Hibiscus would not bloom in the house ether.

I know the seasons are way off schedule this year. I've got some pretty tall seedlings going at the moment and I had hoped to not have to do the inside transplant stage lol.
