I have found a new and free weed barrier I think.
idea
I was on a construction site, and here in Georgia, they have to put up a silt fence around any new construction. The fence material is a woven nylon of some sort. It lets water thru, but not the mud and stuff after our nasty thunderstorms, etc.....

When the house is built, and the lanscaping is done, they just throw the silt fence onto the trash heap. All you have to do is pull it out and load it up. It seems to me it would work better than plastic to kill and prevent weed growth.

I am going to try it and see how it works.

Silt fence works pretty good as a weed block. I don't use it around my plants but for pathways. It can take a lot of foot traffic and not tear like regular weed block does. Good Luck with your project.

It sounds like a perfectly do-able idea.

Only one way to find out - do it.
