Oh no Rita. That is not good. I would try cold water and a gentle wash. I think hot water would only serve to open your pores more and let the oil in more. Another thought is to use regular cooking oil to help pull in the pepper oil and then wash that off again with cold water.

i was going to say that triss. something oil based, unscented lotion, cooking oil, and you don't want cold water or hot water, just skin temp. if it is cold, you run the risk of closing the pores with the oil in them, and like triss said, if it is hot, you run the risk of opening up the pores and letting more in.
also, you can wash your hands in milk. that will help cut the oil.

Venegar.. Next time get some of Cindy's plastic gloves my wife use to wear them as peppers juice would blister her skin. She always washed her hands in Vinegar even wearing the gloves to be safe. What's fun is not wear those gloves then scratch where it itch's so much fun

Bread Angie. Liquids will not work as well as that. Or crackers may help as well. I always use bread.

What is the best way to get rid of burning in mouth from hot spicy foods Springfever is right...sugar. Funny how you said milk didn't work because that's the other thing that's suppose to work. During hot sauce contests..the judges spray whip cream into their mouth...sugar mixed with dairy.

could you soak hands in epsom salt (like a bath solution of H2O and MgSO4) I heard MGSO4 draws out toxins that why they suggest you spray stings and splinters with MGSO4 solution to draw out th stinger/splinter. I guess it should also work with pepper oil...I too scared to try anyways so LMK if it works!

As for hot foods in your mouth: Bleu cheese dressing cools me when i OD on hot wings. Definitely not water! Its too funny to see some big burly tough construction type guy muncing down on wings at a bar and trying to quench it with ice water !!
