A Gardeners Forum Forums Gardening Reference Gardening in 2004 VINE, vine and MORE VINE!!!! HELP

HELP, we have VINE growing in many spots all over our property. We are trying to clear a section near the house ourselves but having a lot of problems with this HORRIBLE vine. It's hard to cut, unattractive and growing EVERYWHERE! Attached is a picture. Does anyone know what it is, and an easy way to get rid of it??

good grief! what a vine. ok, first, when we get together and i see it in person, i will try to help you figure out just what it is. second, what i would do is take some VERY sharp pruner snips, and just cut all the pieces you can see in a square, circle, whatever, until you can get a handle on a small area. then work out from that area. in the meantime, watch it for any signs of greening out because leaves are so much more easily identified than stems.

Did you see the green leaves last year???

#1. Does it have any red berries on it????

#2. Or little twirly things on it,
like wild grape clusters would have????
(or like sweet pea tendrils??? or morning glories have, they wrap around something like a telephone cord looks like??)

Kudzu....WOW....what a vine!!! My chin about hit the floor. How about making everybody baskets for Christmas!!!!

That stuff is something else....that link showed a train where the kudzu will be popping back up....can that stuff derail a train????

Yikes!....that's some vine. Hehehehe...I don't think I want a cutting from it.
