Saw Red & Yellow Twig Dogwoods at the flower Show in Nashville, Tn. & was wondering if anyone has either. Need as much information as I can get before buying them. Read in a flower book that they are subject to canker. What is this???? nutz confused I really like the plant, but not if it will die easy. Thanks for all the information. Happy Gardening, StanetteTN6

I have a red twig dogood, but mine is cornus sericea, not the more common cornus alba. I haven't had any problems with mine, except for deer chewing the tops off. Mine just has green leaves. I've been thinking about getting one of the albas with variegated leaves.

I have a variegated dog wood but I have to move it this year I think it's been getting to much shade and hasn't been growing very well. It's the 'Silverleaf-Elegantissima'.

We have some red ones also but I do not know the name, they are nice in the winter also. We have never had any diseases in either variety.
