Athena is fortunate to have such a person in her life.

My husband says that my stepson had a friend when he was about seven whose dad was a garbage man, and he'd bring home all sorts of toys that he'd pick up on his garbage route that people had thrown out. My stepson always would say he wanted to be a garbage man when he grew up because you get such cool toys.

In my previous marriage we belonged to a country club where I'd take the girls swimming. My girls would always want to eat lunch in the club dining room because "we don't have to pay." Little did they know that their dad was REALLY paying for those french fries.$$$

Jiffy, they'll be away for 6 weeks!!! thumbup They go every year...last year was just a month, but a few years back they went for 3 months!

I need to find that international flight tracker....

Allison has a button nose though, and me, dad, and Paul have big noses. laugh

She's actually my half sister from moms previous relationship--but we never ever say that to anyone.

When mom and dad met Allison was 1 and Dad legally adopted her, he had a son Peter that was 13 at the time. So they made a good match...both single Parents.

Nice looking family Loz! Your folks look very good for being in their 70's!

Mom can always tell dad she needs help in the garden for weed picking if he gets under foot. idea

Your dad sounds like a wonderful man! Truly one who took care of his family well. Bless his heart, he definately has earned his retirement!

Thank you Tonya and Shirl....I might print this out to give to him. thumbup

My mom is actually only 62--there's a 13 year difference between the 2 of them. My mom always says my nana was NOT happy about that at first. laugh

BTW, I guess I've always liked to garden...Dad said he has a note in his room that I wrote to him years ago when I was about 5 or 6 saying, You said we were going to plant seeds---let's go! laugh I was a bossy gardener even back then! wink I just thought that was funny that he still had that....I don't remember writing it.
