Here on the coast of Maine the rain continues. We are under "severe alert" for this storm as of course hurricane season extends into November.

It is cold, too, in the 40's and 50's.

Ours here is cold then rain then cold then rain.
It has rained everyday for the past two weeks, it's raining now. The southern part of the province is flooded out. We are in the This is one of the crappiest falls that I can remember in years.high area in the north. We are supposed to get a wind storm sunday with winds of up to 100km/hr. Everyone is getting prepared for the damage.

It's always around 30 in the morning and we are lucky to see it reach 50 by days end. Snow is going to be early again this year. This is one of the crappiest falls that I can remember in years.

Hmmm.. it's cold upstairs, and hot downstairs..lol. Seriously! I haven't turned the heat on yet (tho some nights it got pretty cold, in the 40's, and high 30's.), so the a/c is set for about 70. It hasn't gotten warm enough most days upstairs to kick it on, so with the basement door shut to keep the cats down here, it is waming up a lot down here. It can be really hot down here some nights, and I go upstairs and need to have more than shorts & a tank top on! laugh

Ok, so currently it's 64F with some clouds. It seems pretty nice out. I see in a couple of days our high is going to be struggling to reach 60F. And nights in the mid 30's to mid 40's. Heat may be coming on soon.

wavey it's been beautiful here.highs in the 70's.last couple of days in the low 80's.

I've been getting as much done outside as possible.I know it can't last much longer.

The trees have been showing their fall colors for awhile now.
They're not very pretty this year.I wonder if it is because of the drought we've been having.

I thought the Hurricane was comin' thru
this afternoon...Mother and I were sitting in
the car eatin' lunch and the sky blackened...
The wind was like the video clips on the
news when the hurricanes are hittin' and the rain,
it was literally comin' down side ways..

Wowwwwwwww!!!

It's calm now.. little bits of sun peakin' thru
the clouds and shining light rays down to the land.
Very pretty now!!!

We had our first frost last night, initially they were calling for a low of 39, but it bottomed out at 27, so all my annuals are gone. Mostly cloudy with a bit of sun now and then. They're saying rain and snow likely this afternoon, but I haven't seen it yet. It's pretty windy though, there's a wind advisory starting at 4:00 and going through 4 am tomorrow.

Cold front just started pushing through here bringing us Tstorms, high winds, and lots of rain....It was 62 degrees out at 7pm before it pushed through...now tomorrow they are calling for snow flurries :p ....it's crazy I tell you...drives me nutz nuts how it can be warm one day and snowing the next.

A town about 50 minutes away, called Orchard Park, N.Y., yesterday got 16" of snow (where the Buffalo Bills play)..
we got about 3"....
We here are known as the snowbelt area... and
what a difference..
The snow cloud was only 10 miles wide that did the
huge dumping.... one town has a North and South,
one end got 12" and the other side got 4"...
how wierd is that??????

I got home from work about 2:20 AM and the temperature was 27 degrees. It felt almost balmy after last nights 19 degrees. That was at about 12:45 or so. The low for the night was 15! It hasn't been colder than that since the beginning of March. They're calling for a low of 20 here tonight.

it's 40 degrees right now. All my flowers got iced last night. I've got to get better and do some cleaning up outside before it gets too cold. We've got leaves everywhere and I didn't even put out pansys.

4" of snow the other day..

And I've had some Nicotiana plants, and I'll tell you they are very cold tolerant, the lower temps have been here for at least a month and a half...
and it wasn't until the snow the other day,
where they are reallllllly sad looking finally.. eek

Always stock up in the winter time, if there's buy one get one free, or 2 for $$ whatever the price..

The only thing I don't do is milk and bread, cause my husbands' job is considered EMERGENCY and he has to be out, and go to work...
so, he's always somewhere's to pick
up something~somewhere's...

I do have a small freezer in my back room,
and stock up on stuff...

And we are sooooooooooo used to it,
I've lived here my entire life..
and that's all we've ever had...

One mayor we used to have during the "Blizzard of '77,
he'd get on the radio and said,
there's a storm coming..."Go stock up, then stay home, get a six~pack and tune in to 97 Rock radio... AND RIP THE NOB OFF...
Meaning stay home and keep off the streets,
jerks....heheheheheheheeeeeeeeee...

We have pictures of me, in that storm, leaning
on our second story porch up on the hill.

During that time, we almost could have touched
the telephone wires by the end of the storm..
I am not lying...

But I live in ski~country...I lived behind the second highest peak in Western NY... *that ski
resort went under due to mismanagement..*
but I live in between two other ski resorts, half an hour on either side of me....
Holiday Valley Ski Resort and Kissingbridge Ski Resort

Wisp Ski Resort

When we ate at the restaurant(me and Jiffy) she got to see the ski slopes....we talked about how we could go and sit inside and watch them and have hot chocolate.... laugh

*the one that was mis~managed*
just for one season, it was a blast.....

Freeeeeee skiing!!!
That was the best...

I used to work next door to the Kissingbrige one,
and skied there when I could.. but I worked
alot and didn't get too many times.. eek eek

Yeh, Mark got to ride a snowmobile around and run the ski lift, make snow....and go skiing for free.....

I can NOT picture Mark skiing...that just cracks me up. laugh And I'm so clumsy that I'd severely injure myself.... I just noticed though that they have tubing down the slopes, I could handle that! thumbup

So I really would like to see that picture!!!!

Well, I haven't heard the full amount yet,
but we've gotten over a foot and a half last night....

We *well I should say me and my mother* were a
little nervous about driving for Thanksgiving day,
but the snow fell all at the right time for us,
early in the day yesterday, lightened up when it was time to go to dinner, and snowed heavily during dinner, then it stopped, mother was able to get home, us too a wee~bit later, and then it dumped the foot last night as everyone was sleepin'.... like it when it snows at that time...

The kids are going to be outta their cotton~pickin'~minds today.. outside, shoveling, tryin' to sled, and makin' angels....

Hot cocoa time!!!!! grinnnn

No! these are from some system way up north and they are cold winds. We may get rain out of it, by the end of the week.

It's windy again tonight. But not as strong - 12mph
and temp is dropping to 46.

You're getting rain after snow? Ugh. slush!

Today at 12:30 PM it was 47 degrees. When I got back from Sunday dinner with my parents at 2:30 it was 39 degrees with drizzle. It was still drizzling when I got home from work at 12:30 PM. The temperature had dropped to 36 while I was away, but rebounded to 40. They are calling for near 60 tomorrow with rain through Tuesday, but no freezing temperatures till Wednesday night.

It's so dark and gloomy outside I feel like going back to bed.... zzzzz

It's 70 degrees here and raining. It's supposed to stop this afternoon and be sunny tomorrow. I can't imagine why the ladybugs don't want to be outside in this nice humid weather instead of dying inside my house.

It looks like the rains are just about over. They've been off and on all day, but there was a ton of rain overnight! This makes 5.9 inches since it all started yesterday morning. They were calling for flood watches in our area. I think that last batch of showers must have brought the cold front with it. It's been 61 degrees most of the day, but it's starting to drop. It was 58 the last I checked.

Loz, I've looked into some of those electronic weather gadgets, but haven't gotten any yet. I'd expecially like an amemometer as we get a lot of high wind here, expecially in winter.

It has quit snowing for a bit (temp up to 36) and the clouds parted and the sun is shining. I can see the black clouds coming in from the west but for now it is so lovely and bright. I am hoping we get as much snow as predicted (4 inches). *fingers crossed graemlin*
