Here on the coast of Maine the rain continues. We are under "severe alert" for this storm as of course hurricane season extends into November.

It is cold, too, in the 40's and 50's.

Ours here is cold then rain then cold then rain.
It has rained everyday for the past two weeks, it's raining now. The southern part of the province is flooded out. We are in the This is one of the crappiest falls that I can remember in years.high area in the north. We are supposed to get a wind storm sunday with winds of up to 100km/hr. Everyone is getting prepared for the damage.

It's always around 30 in the morning and we are lucky to see it reach 50 by days end. Snow is going to be early again this year. This is one of the crappiest falls that I can remember in years.

Hmmm.. it's cold upstairs, and hot downstairs..lol. Seriously! I haven't turned the heat on yet (tho some nights it got pretty cold, in the 40's, and high 30's.), so the a/c is set for about 70. It hasn't gotten warm enough most days upstairs to kick it on, so with the basement door shut to keep the cats down here, it is waming up a lot down here. It can be really hot down here some nights, and I go upstairs and need to have more than shorts & a tank top on! laugh

Ok, so currently it's 64F with some clouds. It seems pretty nice out. I see in a couple of days our high is going to be struggling to reach 60F. And nights in the mid 30's to mid 40's. Heat may be coming on soon.

I've been getting as much done outside as possible.I know it can't last much longer.

The trees have been showing their fall colors for awhile now.
They're not very pretty this year.I wonder if it is because of the drought we've been having.

They're saying rain and snow likely this afternoon, but I haven't seen it yet. It's pretty windy though, there's a wind advisory starting at 4:00 and going through 4 am tomorrow.

we got about 3"....

Always stock up in the winter time, if there's buy one get one free, or 2 for $$ whatever the price..

The only thing I don't do is milk and bread, cause my husbands' job is considered EMERGENCY and he has to be out, and go to work...
so, he's always somewhere's to pick
up something~somewhere's...

I do have a small freezer in my back room,
and stock up on stuff...

And we are sooooooooooo used to it,
I've lived here my entire life..
and that's all we've ever had...

One mayor we used to have during the "Blizzard of '77,
he'd get on the radio and said,
there's a storm coming..."Go stock up, then stay home, get a six~pack and tune in to 97 Rock radio... AND RIP THE NOB OFF...
Meaning stay home and keep off the streets,
jerks....heheheheheheheeeeeeeeee...

We have pictures of me, in that storm, leaning
on our second story porch up on the hill.

During that time, we almost could have touched
the telephone wires by the end of the storm..
I am not lying...

But I live in ski~country...I lived behind the second highest peak in Western NY... *that ski
resort went under due to mismanagement..*
but I live in between two other ski resorts, half an hour on either side of me....
Holiday Valley Ski Resort and Kissingbridge Ski Resort

Yeh, Mark got to ride a snowmobile around and run the ski lift, make snow....and go skiing for free.....

I can NOT picture Mark skiing...that just cracks me up. laugh And I'm so clumsy that I'd severely injure myself.... I just noticed though that they have tubing down the slopes, I could handle that! thumbup

Well, I haven't heard the full amount yet,
but we've gotten over a foot and a half last night....

We *well I should say me and my mother* were a
little nervous about driving for Thanksgiving day,
but the snow fell all at the right time for us,
early in the day yesterday, lightened up when it was time to go to dinner, and snowed heavily during dinner, then it stopped, mother was able to get home, us too a wee~bit later, and then it dumped the foot last night as everyone was sleepin'.... like it when it snows at that time...

The kids are going to be outta their cotton~pickin'~minds today.. outside, shoveling, tryin' to sled, and makin' angels....

Hot cocoa time!!!!! grinnnn

***Michelle, Hang on.....*are those the Santa ana winds that happen this time of year??????*
Posted By: mich168 Re: the weather there... - November 28th, 2005 at 01:01 PM
No! these are from some system way up north and they are cold winds. We may get rain out of it, by the end of the week.

It's windy again tonight. But not as strong - 12mph
and temp is dropping to 46.

You're getting rain after snow? Ugh. slush!

Posted By: obywan59 Re: the weather there... - November 28th, 2005 at 02:09 PM
Today at 12:30 PM it was 47 degrees. When I got back from Sunday dinner with my parents at 2:30 it was 39 degrees with drizzle. It was still drizzling when I got home from work at 12:30 PM. The temperature had dropped to 36 while I was away, but rebounded to 40. They are calling for near 60 tomorrow with rain through Tuesday, but no freezing temperatures till Wednesday night.

Yesterday we had high winds and wild fires all around. Today wind has died down still some fires in Parker county to the west and some north of us still burning. Right now it is 48 and calm.

We have expected 60's for a high today..

I just came back from taking the little man
to school and it's beautiful outside....
Unbelievable...

****BILL, wrote earlier in a post about my foot and a half of snow and 60's and rain today, meant in his area, flooding.. and told me to be careful..
If it floods where I am, we need an ARC!!!! wink wink wink laugh lala
Being the second highest peak in Western New York,
that'd be alot of water... wink

Holy Moly, they were calling for up to 3/4 inch of rain today. I just emptied the rain guage, and there was 2.6 inches in it!! They're calling for possibly 1-2 inches of rain tomorrow also. The temperature's a balmy 56 degrees.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: the weather there... - November 30th, 2005 at 04:13 AM
Terry, it's about the same here....Really heavy rain all day....last night when I went out to unplug the xmas lights it was 63 degrees at 11pm at night...Weird. You know you can get digital rain gauges at walmart....I got dad one for fathers day, and he got my husband one for his birthday....LOL It's self emptying and wireless so you never have to go out and mess with it.... thumbup

It's so dark and gloomy outside I feel like going back to bed.... zzzzz

Okay, who's hogging the sunlight around here? laugh
Posted By: Bestofour Re: the weather there... - November 30th, 2005 at 04:17 AM
It's 70 degrees here and raining. It's supposed to stop this afternoon and be sunny tomorrow. I can't imagine why the ladybugs don't want to be outside in this nice humid weather instead of dying inside my house.

It looks like the rains are just about over. They've been off and on all day, but there was a ton of rain overnight! This makes 5.9 inches since it all started yesterday morning. They were calling for flood watches in our area. I think that last batch of showers must have brought the cold front with it. It's been 61 degrees most of the day, but it's starting to drop. It was 58 the last I checked.

Loz, I've looked into some of those electronic weather gadgets, but haven't gotten any yet. I'd expecially like an amemometer as we get a lot of high wind here, expecially in winter.

It has quit snowing for a bit (temp up to 36) and the clouds parted and the sun is shining. I can see the black clouds coming in from the west but for now it is so lovely and bright. I am hoping we get as much snow as predicted (4 inches). *fingers crossed graemlin*

It rained and rained all day....
Puddles and ponds in alot of yards,
it was coming down so fast...

Andddddddd, HIGH WINDS, 35~40 miles an hour gusts.

It was an all time high for temp this morning,
at 63*'s....
But the cold front is moving in thru and it
really damping off and chilly now...

Snow is in the forcast again, 2 feet for my
snowbelt area, AGAIN!!!

Network TV bored me tonight too, so I watched Sahara on PPV with Michael McConaughey and Penelope Cruz. It was silly, but fun. Oh yeah, and the skies have cleared, the wind has picked up, and the temperature has dropped to 37 degrees. Not that we were off topic or anything. grinnnn
