I grew mine from seeds that I got from someone online... but they never flowered over 3 years! Cindy - aren't those gladiolas that you were talking about above? I'm also surprised that they are blooming for you now, Meg.

Are those purple christmas roses? If so can I trade you some of their seeds for some of the more common white/pastel green. I have about 10 seeds I could trade. I'd really like to get an assortment of the different colors.

Those were blue glads, not iris'.. I don't have any iris, yet. And yes, I was shocked to see a new set of buds appear recently, as they had already bloomed & died back. It was a very nice surprise. Sorry, I didn't label my pics like I usually do.. I was in a posting frenzy. Ok, I had the blue glads, red salvias, purple clematis (I wonder if that's what you meant tk?), hosta with a new flower stalk, tho the rest is dying back, my mini red & yellow roses, my white & yellow mum, and my wildflowers are starting to bloom a 2nd time around.. I have alyssum showing up all over again, and the pretty pink flowers too.. I forget what they were called again! TK, I had no christmas roses.. so I wonder if it's the clematis you were talking about? Which picture was it? Meg

Cindy - aren't those gladiolas that you were talking about above? Yes  ...and I knew that! I don't know why I said irises. They are both one of the very few plants I actually know the name of!

I really detest anything that I have to bring in for the winter..lol. Well, except my newly aquired orange tree. That'll be ok. It's in a pot.

Meg - my irises stay in the ground here in zone 6, so you shouldn't have any problems leaving them in there.

yeppers your right Meg it was a clematis. The flower looks a lot like what I remember the christmas rose looking like but that wouldn't be blooming now. Great pictures.

Well, this thread is nearly done I'd say. Let me add my last few in.. Still have a few glads hanging on.. White clematis is blooming again, behind the glad.. Purple clematis is also blooming again- And this hybrid sage was mowed down, due to it being covered by tall grass & weeds.. actually, all the things were chopped in this spot, my salvias, marigolds, zinnias.. all gone. But this one, popped right back up! More to follow..

My white mum is really starting to fill out- My yellow mum is trying hard! (or is this Bubba's bed?!) Not sure what color these are.. my mums got moved around earlier this year when they weren't looking so good. This one is finally getting buds on it. And my mini red roses are really in full bloom again!

Thankyou for splitting them up so I could see them all. I really really appreciate your doing that. They are fantastic pictures showing off fantastic flowers. I bought some of the ornametal sage for next year I hope it does as well as yours did.

Wow Mary, those are awesome photos, of awesome flowers!! The box jumped out at me, when I saw "Howitzer" on it. Steve drove a howitzer in the Army. That was cute the way you made a box of flowers out of it. Meg
