I grew mine from seeds that I got from someone online... but they never flowered over 3 years!

Cindy - aren't those gladiolas that you were talking about above?
I'm also surprised that they are blooming for you now, Meg.

Are those purple christmas roses? If so can I trade you some of their seeds for some of the more common white/pastel green. I have about 10 seeds I could trade. I'd really like to get an assortment of the different colors.

Those were blue glads, not iris'.. I don't have any iris, yet. And yes, I was shocked to see a new set of buds appear recently, as they had already bloomed & died back. It was a very nice surprise.

Sorry, I didn't label my pics like I usually do.. I was in a posting frenzy. wink laugh

Ok, I had the blue glads, red salvias, purple clematis (I wonder if that's what you meant tk?), hosta with a new flower stalk, tho the rest is dying back, my mini red & yellow roses, my white & yellow mum, and my wildflowers are starting to bloom a 2nd time around.. I have alyssum showing up all over again, and the pretty pink flowers too.. I forget what they were called again! laugh

TK, I had no christmas roses.. so I wonder if it's the clematis you were talking about? Which picture was it?

Umm.. do they get lifted in fall, or can they stay in the ground year round? I really detest anything that I have to bring in for the winter..lol. Well, except my newly aquired orange tree. That'll be ok. wink It's in a pot. grinnnn

Meg - my irises stay in the ground here in zone 6, so you shouldn't have any problems leaving them in there.

yeppers your right Meg it was a clematis. The flower looks a lot like what I remember the christmas rose looking like but that wouldn't be blooming now. Great pictures.

And this hybrid sage was mowed down, due to it being covered by tall grass & weeds.. actually, all the things were chopped in this spot, my salvias, marigolds, zinnias.. all gone. But this one, popped right back up!

Thankyou for splitting them up so I could see them all. I really really appreciate your doing that. They are fantastic pictures showing off fantastic flowers.

I bought some of the ornametal sage for next year I hope it does as well as yours did.

Wow Mary, those are awesome photos, of awesome flowers!! The box jumped out at me, when I saw "Howitzer" on it. Steve drove a howitzer in the Army. wink That was cute the way you made a box of flowers out of it. flw
