I cheated a little.....I put it outside way early when it was still coldish....and at night I covered it up with half of the plastic egg thing that came in the kit.....So it's been getting lots of sun for quite a while--I thought the cold might kill it but took a chance because I just didn't have anywhere to keep it in the house with the kitchen remodel going on. And I didn't use any miracle grow on it either.....that's just from being outside in good sunlight for a while.
They are slow growers to begin with, but then they hit a point where they just start to take off.....there for a while mine looked like it was getting bigger almost everyday......

Mine is like MAYBE 2 inches tall. I've been giving it miracle grow once every couple of weeks...its 7 1/2 weeks old. Maybe I need to put it outside now. I just don't know what to do with it!!! ...how to get it to grow!

Jenn get it outside in the sun now if you can.....mine was teeny tiny when I first put it in that planter.......I think that will really make yours grow a lot faster if they are out in the sun. I think that it's best to put it in a planter if you can.....a lot of seedlings I planted out in the garden flopped over and died....but that has really flourished in that pot.....I kept it on the back porch where it got sun all morning, and shade during the hottest part of the day, but I just moved it out into full sun. And Miss Jamie, yours will grow....like I said before I think they are slow starters then they seem to hit a point where they really take off!

Well... mine have been out in full day sun for several weeks now, and they are limping along. The larger 2 stalks are the ones that wintered over indoors, and the rest of the green are the seedlings.

well y'all are never going to believe this. well maybe you will considering it's me that this happend to. what i thought was a egg tree turned out to be the tomato that came with it,and the egg tree seedlings which i thought were the tomatos are now actually coming along nicely. i thought i was doing real good with the wonder egg then lone day i was looking at the leaves and noticed that they smelled like a tomato plant. i dont know if the seed packets were mixed up or if i was. but all is ok now that i know which is which

oh yeah more than likely it was me that was "mixed" up. just glad i know which is which. i have 2 egg tree seedlings (i'm assuming) that are doing real good i have them in one of my big plant boxes. as soon as it stops raining i'm going to go out and put them in pots of thier own. the funny thing is i gave what i thought was an egg tree to a friend of mine. cant wait to get her reaction when tomatos grow instead of eggs. she will think i'm nuts (she'll be right)

That is soooo interesting, Sheri - my wonder egg plants have never looked like that! Yours look very healthy, just different. Mine grow on single upright stems (see picture above), rather than growing out of a center point on the bottom. Can't wait til everyone starts getting eggs so we can compare!

Ya know, if you look at the leaf shapes and compare them, they are very similiar.
Ok Loz, I put the little thing into a pot and stiuck it on the back porch where it will get morning sun. Here's hoping!

Yeah, I'm with Lynne on this one... The stems are totally different, Lynne's is on one stem, out of the ground and then as the leaves appear they grow out from a stem... The one Sheri posted, the leaves are coming out of the ground/basal area.... And the shape of the leaves, to my eyeballs isn't exactly the same.... The one Sheri has is too elongated, even the babies come out pointy, where as the other is more rounded... And the veining in the leaves are different to me. And leaf texture isn't the same.. the one Loz and Lynne have, even though are veiny, they appear to be smooth... where as Sheri's seems rough or bumby or textured!!!! Go back to Loz's picture on pg 5, and that's how mine is.. JUST SMALLLLLLLLLLLER :p :p

I don't have any coneflowers this year. Last year I had 2 plants in another area. I guess it's possible. I've had not planted flowers pop up before. It's interesting that these are coming up where I have the marker for wonder egg.

I wonder what they are???? They do look awfully different than mine and Lynnes......It's a mystery plant, I have some of those myself.... Did you keep any of the wonderegg seeds Sheri, or did you plant them all????
