this past April my grand daughter gave me a big flower pot with a couple of tulips in it. It is an outside pot, and when the tulips died back I planted something else on top that is now dead. Yesterday I noticed that the tulips are coming up. Should I just cover them over with dirt?

I would just let them be...I would think when it gets colder, they will stp, but if you cover them with dirt, it might encourage them to grow more? Duh

That's amazing - I've heard they can bloom twice a year, but haven't seen it happen.

I hope I'm going to be around here in spring (might not be). I'm looking forward to seeing the bulbs come up - especially those almost black tulips I planted.

Sheri, what does that plant actually look like - Nigella? I never did see it come up - or maybe it's one of those idunno's I've got.

Nigella is so beautiful. The foliage is wispy, the flowers delicate. Can you look it up online. I tried to post a picture from the net here but couldn't get it to paste. They're the prettiest thing. I think you would have noticed.
