Well I terraced as high as I could on the steepest part of my slope but I've still got about 30" vertical that isn't covered. I need something that will drape down and dig in if possible. Is there anything like that? Not Ivy please because it gets to invasive and is almost harder to pull up than I can manage. Will morning glories grow down? Would that work?

The soil is very clay heavy.

I have a steep bank next to my carport and every time it rains a bit would wash away so I planted creeping phlox. It takes them a bit to get going but what a show they put on when they do. This picture is last year. This year they are even biigger! grinnnn

My eyesight is so bad. Is the creeping phlox growing down the very steep almost vertical part of your bank? That's about how steep mine is after the terracing.

Yes they will grow all the way down if you give them a chance. I am sorry about the quality of the picture too. Creeping phlox come in a variety of colours as well. I have the bright pink, purple and white with a pink cross through the center of the bloom. I didn't amend the soil when I planted them. I needed a quick fix so it was straight clay when they were planted. I also have evergreens (blue rug juniper) planted in between the phlox. After this picture was taken I added some yuccas to the middle too so this year it is really full. I placed some rocks on the bare spots to temporarily stop the mud sliding.

It looks like you taken one of those "difficult areas" and made it a truly wonderful garden. You hearten me. If I keep plugging one of these days I'll walk out there and it will be beautiful. I put the creeping phlox on my wishlist.
