I was wondering what people thought about the biodegradable bags. I was not sure if i really should use them in my compost??? they say they are degradable but is that still organic????

what kind of bags are you talking about? plastic garbage bags? grocery store bags, paper sacks? it all depends on how long you are composting, what you are composting and the temp/light issues with your compost. most things that are labeled "biodegradable" mean that with sufficient light & water, they will fall apart. not a problem, except that most compost doesn't get the light except when it is turned and on top.

I wouldn't use plastic bags as they are made from petroleum by products papper should be ok. Plus plastic takes a lot longer to break down.
