Thanks everybody for the very warm welcome!
Sheri&Kiki: I'm planting lots of Rudbecki or Black-eyed Susans, Daisies, Asters. The rest are escaping my mind right now, but I'm scouring my Birds & Blooms magazines & the internet. I imagine it will be a lot easier for you living in Florida, but a surprising number of things grow here in the North Country. One thing I need to be aware of is the presence of Bears...
Obywan59: I think fruiting
plants might attract Black Bears, & I don't want to get them in trouble, but I will check out the link. BTW, we watched the whole original triligy of Star Wars recently on DVD & enjoyed it all over again.
(NOTE: If anyone here knows a good way to attract wildlife but not bears, please let me know.)
SueZ: I'll check out the homemade butterfly feeder when I leave here. Thanks!
I LOVE Blackeyed Susans! Planted some in the fall & can't wait to see them come back--when
spring comes! Yes, I feel closer to God in nature also & just LOVE watching things grow. It is amazing.
linda12159: Yes, I find spiders fascinating to watch. One spider--I named her Charlotte**not too original I guess--helped me to make a major decision. I know that God brought her to me. So spiders will always be very special to me. I'm also Crow Lady as I adore Crows too & everything else with fur or wings.
princessazlea: Thank you! Nice to meet you too. I used to write to a woman in England. She called her yard the "garden". I finally got it straight that in England a "garden" is a yard--after some confusion.
Looking forward to sharing garden joys & frustrations with you all.
