The first thread was closed, so I'm starting another. Triss - I wish you much good luck in getting that house - sounds like a great solution to your problem. I'm hard pressed to find a highlight today, but it's always my wonderful friends here, and being fortunate not to be in harms way of the natural disasters that have been hitting of late.

The highlight of my day was just a few minutes ago, there' was a flight to NY from Calif.. something happened to it's front wheels.. they were turned sideways.. *if it landed, they would be backwards* They had to fly around for 3 hours to burn up the fuel, so if it did crash on landing, the fuel wouldn't exaggerate the situation more if it did crash.. They JUST LANDED!! I was watching it live.. Unbelievable the technology we have now.. But I was prayin' to GOD, that he'd keep them safely in his hands.. and he did!!

Hadn't heard about it before they cut into the program to show it landing - PHEWWWWWWWWWWW!
My husband is flying back from Colorado tomorrow, and my heart just about stopped when they cut in about this flight just now!

Oh, I'll bet.. My mom is leaving to go to Oregon in a couple of days.. I was like, maybe you could walk mother... I'd been watchin' it for a bit... They'd been in the air flyin' around for 3 hours burnin' that extra fuel off, they were supposed to go to NYC...

Never saw the plane landing or even heard to it. Thank God it made it safely. Will be saying prayers for your husband Lynne and your mom Weezie that they both have safe flights.
My highlight of today is that things went well with the broker!

Hi Catlover -
Yep - my husband got home safe and sound. He hadn't heard about that plane in Calif., as he was hiking all day the previous day and fell into bed that night.
Weezie - hope your mom has a very smooth and uneventful flight to Oregon!

My highlight was finding a window screen that would work as my compost sifter. It's so cool when it works out that way. And it fits perfectly in my little garden potting composting corner. I can't wait until Sunday when I turn the compost and can check out how well the sifter works. I gave it a trial run today but I didn't really have anything to work with. It was nice to find out that the bin is nice and hot so I know everything is working.
Hope you all have lots of highlights today and everyday.

So many highlights so little time woohoo. My tabletop fountain is great! Ordering the water-keep so I don't have to carry water as often! Having a roommate that is gone most of the time so I don't really even know he's here and who pays enough rent that I can afford to have help keeping this place clean! And there is food in the house. Which means that I didn't run out before payday. That is a really big highlight. I've been fighting that for months.
I just have bunches and bunches to be greatful for and I'm so glad you did this topic so that I am reminded. Sometimes I forget and then I can get pretty depressed.

The lady that comes in and helps me was here today. So the apartment looks much nicer and that's definitely a very good thing. Also the tomatoe cuttings are doing well and that's a bonus also. I'm really feeling good today and tonight is my favorite program so I'm in really good shape. Hope you all have a good day.

No, no test... I found out the hard way that I was allergic..
I found one of those rust and black fuzzy catapillars, and I played with his fur/fuzz, and blew into it to make that fur/fuzz move up and down.......well, by the time I got back to the house, I had blown up, little water like blisters, and itched, itched, itched.. and it kept getting bigger... and it was on my face and both hands, and up my arms...
I ended up going to the doctors', for it.. I don't remember much of it, except getting that way, not how it ended up...
But I know if I pick something up and accidently touched a catapiller.... like under a tarp or something I've moved with out seeing it, cause it'll do the same thing again...

I found one of those rust and black fuzzy catapillars Wow...had no idea you COULD be allergic to caterpillars...just never thought about it...that was the same kind I found today. So far so good, no blisters or itches -- I'm not generally allergic to anything though. So, another positive for me then - I pet a caterpillar and found out I'm not allergic to them! Hmm I dunno how long I can keep this optimism up - not easy for me yaknow

Ah that was my highlight yesterday - a package from Vanessa - including some baby spiders...I joked with her that they'd all be dead before she got back online...planted em all right away yesterday - and guess what? All but 2 or 3 black as can be and no sign of life left in em! :p I dunno about this thumb of mine sometimes!

Yesterday Vanessa sent me some spider babies, and a pint jar of homemade "Red pepper, Garlic and Rosemary Vinaigrette". It is delicious! And, a jar of pepper Jelly.

Meezie, Jaffy, and Alphabet Cindy Tammy - YOU CRACK ME UP!!! My third highlight was receiving the hoya cuttings from Dianna (Dixie Angel) later this afternoon in the mail. Thank you sooooo much, Dianna! They are already planted, and in my computer room, so I can think of you everytime I'm in here - which is all the time !

My highlights for the past few weeks are my forum friends. Lynne sent me some mini zinnia seeds and then coached me on how to send cuttings and seeds through the mail so I could share with my friends. Cindy sent me some pond plants to help me clear up my little puddle. Hopefully, it will clear up soon and I will be able to add fish. Dianna

Diana, I have to second that emotion. I don't know what I'd do without my friends here. You guys are the only friends I have! And, you all are the absolute best of the BEST! Why look anywhere else? Cindy

Did you know that they make catnip bubbles? My husband bought them when our older 2 were babies - they didn't know what to make of them!

The biggest highlight today (and always), is the fact that we all get along here and try to keep it a peaceful and warm place to come whether a newbie, or an oldie! Thanks for providing that safe haven, Bill and Hostesses! Another, not so important highlight, is that I received my freebie ball of disco yarn in the mail today - I had posted about it in the freebie forums and it seems to be on still. The best thing is, that the color they sent is the same one that's posted in their offer - MY FAVORITE!!! TURQUOISE!!! Now I need to figure out what I'm going to use it for... hmmmmmmm...

Shoppers had 3 huge pots of mums for 10.00. I got a white one and a yellow one and a burgandy one. Now I just need to get out there and get them planted.
Oh, and I checked out the brand new targets that just opened next to the shoppers. Woohoo.

Cindy - I just bet you were beaming too!!! And... HE CUT HIS HAIR! He had been growing it for the past 3 years and it was very thin and ratty, usually in a ponytail with a very spare middle part. He looks worlds better, and my S-I-L and B-I-L could not say it enough last night! My daughter stayed home alone sick yesterday - poor baby. She can't seem to entirely get rid of this bad head cold she got 2 weeks ago. And tonite she's going to her first sweet 16 party.

That's always nice to hear isn't it Lynne... Feels good!!! They are all a size 2 "taken in" I know a person like that, and there's always some comment, just as you're putting food into your own mouth, that they can't eat that cause they're watching their girlish figure... I'd like to say something about that girlish figure, but GOD wouldn't like me much.... so I don't!! But somedays!!! :p Highlight of my day was spending some more time with my Uncle in from Denver...*via Ireland* ***I wrote Scotland here somewhere's but was boo~boo'd wrong..***

So those are the spider lillies huh? Cool they are a knockout. I've got the head cold too. And it will probably last forever because I refuse to stay out of the garden or the rain or do anything else that is terribly bright. I hope the sudafed lasts longer than the cold lol. The Highlight today was that so much of the compost bin had finished so I had lots of black gold to sift and put in the garden. That was way cool. Of course the chair was wet so I had soggy bottom during most of my garden chores which probably wasn't good for the cold I've got. But I love my compost.
