I have a plant that my mom gave me and she calls it a "money tree plant". I was trying to find out how to prune it, but I can't find any info on it anywhere. It has round, thin leaves on it that resemble a coin. Does anyone know the name of this plant?

The money plant that produces seed pods that look like coins is called a lunaria. I have had them for years and really enjoy them. They make a good plant to put in a corner where you can ignore them as they will spread and reappear every spring. They produce a lovely flower in the spring and then set on the seed pods in the summer. I have used them in dried flower arrangements. They are delicate and I slide the coating off the pod and attach each one individually to a wire with white floral tape. Here is a site that will tell you all about them: http://www.botany.com/lunaria.html
Hope this is the plant you are seeking.
smile
