Well, I don't know about you all..but I just have to tell you that these holidays are rollin right on up here! So, I thought it would be nice for everybody to post their Thanksgiving plans. As you all know by my whining...I am not having Thanksgiving here this year...for the first time in forever! But, Darin was whining quite a bit as well..so we are going to buck up and eat out with my sis & her family Thanksgiving day in Tulsa, take the kidlets to the auquadic museum and get in some swimming at the hotel.I may get to visit with a couple of friends that I haven't seen in 24 years (which will be the bomb if we can work it out)and hit some of the turning on of the Christmas lights festivities around the area. AND THEN...tee hee hee...I'm coming home and COOKING a HUGE Thanksgiving dinner that week~end for us & the kids! (I knew I could get it in there somewhere!!) thumbup
So, what are you all doing...any traditions, new recipes you are going to try? As Loz~ie~lu would say "inquireing minds want to know!"

This will be my first year doing all the cooking and hosting the dinner at my home. So far we are having 6-8 for dinner, so that's not too bad.

Now I just have to figure out where to put the table! Our house is only 1000 square feet, and we don't use a table, just a breakfast bar. Mike's going to bring home a table a chairs from the station. grinnnn

Margarita sounds good!

We are have 2 dinners. My sil's got in a fight so we are going up to the oldest and having turkey day there and staying through Friday and then back here for another big dinner Sat or Sunday. I also get to pick up my niece and she is staying with us Fri-Sun.

I am making pecan pies and my famous 60 minute rolls for the big dinner but other menus have yet to be planned.

Barly, our house is about the same size, which is why we don't do any holiday here. We MIGHT do New Year's Eve this year...but not sure.

Anyways, for Thanksgiving we usually drive out to Altoona the night before. We always have Thanksgiving at the family farm in Tyrone, which is just outside of Altoona. Normally we sleep at the farm, but this year, I think we are going to sleep at Pap and Sis' house. Anyways, for Thanksgiving we always have the same thing to eat...
turkey
potatoes
filling
green beans
yams
corn
cranberry sauce/relish
pumpkin pie
cookies
other various desserts

There are usually around 20 people there. After dinner, Stephen and I leave by 6:00 to make the drive back home to get a decent night's sleep so that Stephen can get to the store by 4:30 to open it and I can get down to Lancaster to shop by 5. smile

I'm going to stay with my sis down in Mass. and go to my Mom's for Thanksgiving! First I will go to the big rival football game. I'm such a sh&t that my Mom does all the cooking, I do make some pies and we all clean up so Mom doesn't have to. I have 5 sisters and families who will be there too.

Well I haven't decided exactly what all I am going to do. The Sunday after Thanksgiving the church is having a Thanksgiving potluck and I signed up to do the stuffing balls. It's a recipe that I recently found that adds the cranberry sauce in the stuffing. It sounded easy and yummy so I'm going to try it out. But I also bought several turkeys since they were on sale really cheap and you can't find them most of the year. So I may do the whole meal hear at home and just eat leftover until christmas lol. You never know about me.
