Does any one know if pinecones or pine sap is toxic to humans? I spent much of yesterday cutting up pine cones covered with hardened sap and then hot-glueing the petals to various objects for Christmas decorations.
This morning I woke up with my head, face and arms itching me to death. I looked in my mirror to see my eyes swollen shut, face and arms tomato red and was covered with tiny blisters. a trip to the emergency room got me some Benadryl and Steroids and I am doing much better now. I suspect that the pine cones, something on them, or else the hot-glue is the culprit causing my discomfort.
