Passing this on....,.it works and is so affordable.:

In a gallon jug combine 1 cup baking soda, 1/4 cup

clear ammonia, and 1 tablespoon scent (any scented oils

or extracts work). Slowly add 16 cups of warm water, label,

and store. To use, pour well-shaken solution into a spray

container and mist air as needed. I myself used a scented

oil. I bought a scented oil refill and just opened it and added

a little to the solutionand now I have a gallon. I use it just like I

would Fabreze. I used the cucumber melon and I love it.

Great to take the stale winter smell from the house till we

can open our windows again.

Also....If have those oil warmers that plug in?I've used some cooking oil and added the scent& had to fill it less& when smell fades can just add 1 TBs of extract to the oil.i've had the oil going since Thanksgiving.I forgot to buy some so added some cooking oil to remainder in bottle and poured in,now i just add the extract when needed& have topped with the bottle was useing that have bought now and lasts alot longer than one month now.I also use epson salts and add scent.I have one in cabinet where trash can is and down in 5th wheel& in bathroom cabinet& have used in car before, just filled the ashtray.

Thanks for the info! I just love the house to smell comfy but didn't realize how much I was spending on scents. When we lived in a bigger city, I would go to the candle shop and get a chunk of scented wax and put it in my oit burner...but I don't have a place to get it now. I have a ton of essential oils so this will be a great way to make them last llonger!

omg....i am so crazy about the house smelling good!! i too found that those candles were so pricey, not to mention some of the only smelled good when you sniffed them....did nothing when they were lit. heres an affordable idea i use...i have one of those tea lamps, you know the ones where you put the tea candle under a simmering pot....i buy those plugins or anything like that and slice the plastic film coating and drop into the pot with a little water, it last forever because the scent is so concentrated. i like your idea injoyinit...never thought ammonia could be used this way thumbup very inexpensive too, i like that <img border="0" alt="[clappy]" title="" src="graemlins/clappy.gif" />
thanks, Linda

Hey Linda...thanks for yet another great idea. I have some of those plug in refills that I didn't know what to do with because I changed and went to the oil scents....now I have a plan!!! I am REALLY crazy about the house smalling good also. I have the lamp rings that you put on the lightbulbs and order essential oils like crazy...however it is getting more difficult to find really good oils! Thanks again...I just love trying new stuff!

Thanks so much for this! I actually went crazy with smellies lately. frown Our house always smells heavily of smoke (I know... we're stupid) and I always feel awful when non-smoker friends pop in.
