Now Carly, I don't expect you to let a little thing like a tree stump slow you down... grinnnn

When you get through there, just pop on down here. We have a couple in the drainage ditch that need to go.... laugh

Oh boy . . . so in other words, you're saying that I know about as much as you do.

OK - is bleach an option (whispering)? Would it rot it enough to pull it up?

I have heard of drilling holes into it, then pouring sugar in the holes.

Jeff will probably hack away at the thing tomorrow (after today's storm).

actually carly, that's not far from how we handle stumps that we aren't in a "big" hurry to get rid of. down here, the fire ants and the termites will make short work (less than one season) of stumps if they aren't disturbed. and trust me, you don't want to disturb fire ants. my mother in law says they reminded her of "pissants?" on steriods. maybe a northing thing? all i know is that if one bites you, 10 have bit you, and you are swelled up for days, and have big white pustules to go with the bite.

back to the stump, the sugar in drilled holes might attract the "good" critters you need to get it out of there naturally.

Oh, I see - that's why sugar is suggested - to attract the bugs.
