Hello all. I'm a middle-age mom of two with a wonderful husband and a new home (well new to us anyway) and we want to have a nice yard to enjoy. I am a rookie. I moved 2 gardenias that my grandmother gave me before she died. We planted them in the front yard and so far so good. My first and most primary goal is to keep them alive and if successful, then I want them to flourish! then if I don't kill them, maybe I'll try to support other plant life! So I'm counting on you guys to help me along. Thanks.

Hi & Welcome

If you want some very good information and an equal about of fun check out past posts on gardenias. I've forgotten that particular strings name but it's a hoot.

Welcome, LumbeeMom! You will have lots of fun here while you are learning to garden. I am a rookie, too, and I have been having a blast. These teachers make learning fun with the humor that gets added along the way. grinnnn

wavey Hi there Lumbeemom,
I am a newbie to the Forum, too, and it has been one of the most fun things that I could have run across on the 'net. Not only are the folks here serious about their gardening and helping folks like me, but they are fun and clever. Welcome, and happy planting. Jane thumbup

Hello to my new Gardening Friends!

I'm also new to the site...I'm in Boca Raton Florida in my first year of gardening. I've learned all my gardening skills from my Mom. Now that I have my own home, it's time to expand my knowledge and this is the site to teach me. It's nice to call her and tell her things I've learned since having my own garden. It's even better showing her the pictures.

I want to thank everyone for your support now before I forget. It is sure great to have somewhere to go to other than Mom all the time!

See you guys around and happy growing!! wavey
