Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum thing. I have no idea how to use the icons, etc. The reason I joined is to ask for some ideas on making use of the T-shaped clothesline posts in my backyard. I only need 1 line on it for quilts, etc. I would like to do something really original and cute with them, like attach trellises or ... ? Anyone out there have any ideas or have done things with theirs?
Thanks!

Haven't done anything like that with clothesline poles, but am interested in the idea. I'll have to give it some thought. Are you considering using the lines, or are you definitely going to use them for the quilts? Hmmmm, you've got me thinkin'. idea Jane

Me, too...and that's dangerous! laugh

What would you grow on the trellises?
That would be pretty...stringing a line or two up from the bottom of the poles to the top and having a pretty vine of some sort growing up on it.

Gonna keep this bookmarked...
Wanna see what you're up to! laugh thumbup

Welcome to the forum!

Glad you found us!

I have a wooden "T" and I use it for birdfeeders,I have 4 assorted feeders hanging from it. If you use it for feeders I wouldn't recommend trying to grow something around them as the bird seed will be all over the ground, ruining any plantings. On the plus side though you will probably get quite a few "volunteer" sunflowers growing around the poles thumbup

HI wavey Jmacd welcome to the fourm.you could put up 2 bird houses 1 on each end of the T and then put up some dog wire as a trellis strait up the pole or use latis for a trellis.then plant some sort of vine like clematies that would come back evry year just keep its roots in the shade by placeing some rocks around the bottom of the vine.theres a lot of vine plants to chose from.heres a photo of one of my old clothesline pole Ts mabe it will give some ideas on how you would like your to look.i decorated mine with bird houses and old plow points and hitches.

Hey everybody, THANK YOU for your wonderful ideas. I had lost track of where I posted this, and posted again under creativity or something like that. Somebody there alerted me to where this one is, and lo and behold, I have some replies here, too. Yipee!

Great ideas. Thanks for the pic, Mike.

Mine are white, and I'm "into" the "shabby chic" cottage look right now, so probably would go with a less rustic look, but I love the rustic, too. Bird feeders and houses were one of my ideas, but I thought maybe there was something else I hadn't yet envisioned.

One of the posts is in deep shade, and the other gets some morning sun. I also have tons of bunnies that eat everything that blooms. So my dilemma is what to plant that will survive?

I love this forum! Thank you again to all my new friends out there, and your warm welcome.

crown imperals. The rodents don't like it and it is gorgeous. Not sure about the light requirement. I forget things all the time.
